A friend of mine I have known for 15 years had lunch with me and her husband when I was only about 13 weeks pregnant, they knew I was pregnant and at lunch told me that they were planning to have children until they were financially able to afford one- the comment sort of came across as personal attack on me and my husbands part since we got married only about 9 months before I became pregnant and Im still trying to finish my education, none the less, I let it go on top of a few other comments.
Now this same friend 28 weeks later, she tells me shes 5.5 weeks pregnant- anyone else think that’s a bit to soon to share the news (not that its my business or place to suggest to her- and I was MORE then thrilled to hear the news) but heres the thing, she says: “theres never a right time to have children and well never be fully financially stable”, almost like she had to justify this to me , and I never even for a second brought it up, to top it off :
I got engaged and waited 2.5 years for my wedding (to save and buy a home first ..etc) I planned to get married in dec and set the date for august, she became engaged in January to her husband and planned to marry in the following june THEN cancelled her wedding and decided to get married that very oct (not even 2 months after me)
I bought a home with my husband before we married, about 9 months later, THEY BOUGHT in the same neighbourhood
I became pregnant and as mentioned above, 23 weeks later and shes pregnant…
I dont think for a moment shes trying to steal my sunshine but I sort of feel like shes living in my shadow or trying to compete with me..am I completely shallow and crazy to think this?
