Open Question: Gypsies have moved in next to me and I need to leave the house?

Gypsies have moved in an abandoned building next to mine, and I need to leave the house for a few weeks for business but I’m scared that they will break in and steal stuff, or start squatting in my home. How do I prevent a burglary? I don’t know anyone in the neighborhood so I can’t ask anyone to monitor my house while I’m gone. Normally I would have tried to chase the gypsies away but there’s a lot of them and I saw a few with knives and slings.
@Thamain : yes there are police but they don’t patrol this area much and besides gypsies are really fast, I doubt anyone would even notice them breaking in
@Ublindmice I called before, but they fled when the police came and a day later they were back. I think they know it was me who called because I’m the closest, so my home is pretty much guaranteed to be robbed.
