Open Question: Has anybody who has sold Mary Kay, Avon, Creative Memories, etc… held an"OPEN HOUSE"?

Hi ~
I just became a creative Memories Consultant. ( http://www.creativememories.com). And had the idea of having an OPEN HOUSE at my home to gain customers and to show new products. I live in the country and so I don’t know how well this will go. Has anybody here who has a home base business ( Mary Kay, Avon, Creative Memories, Etc… ) ever done anything like this???? If so how did you advertise?? How did you get people to come to your house and check things out??? Let me know! And if you have any advice on getting customers please let me know!
